Andrew Jerome “Drew” Lewis, aged 27, was found dead in his vehicle on the morning of October 29, 2008. The vehicle was parked in a private driveway on the 6100 block of Carson Road in southeast Houston. Lewis lived nearby at the Crestmont Village apartments on Selinsky Road. The circumstances of his death remain unclear, and the case is still open with no suspects identified. At the time, no apparent motive for the crime was established, and law enforcement has since been attempting to gather further evidence or leads to solve the case.
Lewis’s death has become one of many unsolved homicides in Houston, which has a growing number of cold cases due to low clearance rates. The Houston Police Department’s Cold Case Squad has taken on this and other unsolved cases, employing forensic re-evaluations, reinterviews with witnesses, and collaborations with other agencies like the FBI and the Texas Rangers to generate new leads. The Cold Case Squad continues to work on cases like that of Andrew Lewis in hopes of bringing justice to victims and closure to their families.
