On July 11, 2009, Lamont Malone, a 36-year-old man from Houston, Texas, suffered fatal injuries following a shooting incident. He was found wounded in his abdomen and shoulder and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The Houston Police Department (HPD) opened an investigation into the case, seeking to identify the responsible individuals.
