On June 2, 2014, Robert Blanton was fatally shot in San Antonio, Texas, just minutes before his 33rd birthday. Around 11:30 p.m., Blanton and a female companion were driving in the 1400 block of Hays Street on the East Side, reportedly en route to a "weed house." As they proceeded, an assailant opened fire on their Mercury Grand Marquis, striking Blanton multiple times.
