Ishmael Haywood, aged 20, was killed in a targeted ambush on March 7, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. Haywood and 17-year-old Demontray Mackey were traveling in a car with three other men when they were attacked at the intersection of Larry Street and Sherman Street. The shooter, armed with an assault rifle, was a passenger in a white, four-door sedan. The ambush left Haywood and Mackey dead, while the three other passengers survived with injuries.
Authorities believe the attack was not random and could be linked to gang activity. Despite appeals from Haywood's mother for justice, the suspects remain at large, with the police continuing their investigation into the incident.
