Emmett Wayne Crawford, aged 39, was fatally shot on November 2, 2015, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Dreyfus and St. Augustine streets. Crawford, a resident of Pearland, was in his SUV when he reportedly had an argument with a man and a woman in a gray Honda or Hyundai. The two vehicles moved slowly down the street before coming to a stop side-by-side, at which point multiple gunshots were fired. Crawford was struck and found lying outside his SUV, which had ended up in a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told the police they heard gunshots and observed a black or dark blue Ford F-150 pickup truck reversing from the scene with its headlights off. The truck then headed away from the area. Despite extensive investigation, there were no immediate arrests or suspects identified, and the case grew cold. Houston police have since released information about a woman seen with Crawford before his death, believing she could be connected to the incident. She was spotted getting in and out of Crawford’s white Ford Expedition roughly 45 minutes before the fatal shooting took place.
The case remains unsolved, and authorities have been actively seeking assistance from the public to help identify the individuals involved. The Houston Police Department has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward, hoping that new leads could bring some clarity and justice to Crawford's death.
