On April 11, 2016, James Weldon Ecford, aged 25, was tragically killed while defending his mother during an attempted armed robbery in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred late at night at the Sands Point Condominiums, where James and his mother were returning home. As they arrived, a suspect approached from behind and grabbed his mother's purse. Hearing her screams, James rushed to confront the suspect, and a struggle ensued. During the confrontation, the suspect drew a firearm and shot James. ...
