On March 24, 2016, Antoine Whalon, an 18-year-old from Houston, Texas, was fatally shot while traveling in a vehicle with friends on Scenic Drive. According to police reports, Whalon was a front seat passenger when an unknown vehicle approached theirs on Airport Boulevard. Multiple shots were fired from the suspect's vehicle, striking Whalon and causing fatal injuries. The two other individuals in the car were not harmed, but the shooter fled the scene without being identified.
