On May 17, 2016, 11-year-old Josue Flores was fatally stabbed while walking home from Marshall Middle School in Houston, Texas. The attack occurred in the Near Northside neighborhood, where Josue was stabbed more than 20 times. The brutal nature of the crime shocked the community and led to an extensive investigation by the Houston Police Department.
