On May 11, 2008, Sergio Cavazos Garcia, 56, was fatally shot during an attempted robbery at his home in northeast Houston. The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. when two armed men arrived at Garcia's home in a dark-colored vehicle. One suspect, carrying a shotgun, entered the house and confronted Garcia and another person, while the second suspect remained at the door.
