On August 27, 2022, a fatal shooting occurred outside a Walmart on West Sam Houston Parkway in Houston, Texas. Christopher David Hernandez, 23, was charged with murder following the incident. The altercation began as Hernandez and the victim parked on the same row and encountered each other while walking toward the store entrance. A heated argument over parking or driving escalated, during which Hernandez allegedly drew a handgun and fired multiple shots at the victim, striking him several
times. After the shooting, Hernandez reportedly entered the store, where he was detained by law enforcement.
Emergency responders transported the victim, a 32-year-old male whose identity was pending verification, to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in critical condition. He was later airlifted to the Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing, with Houston Police Department detectives continuing to review evidence and circumstances surrounding the altercation.
