Javier Soto, 34, was killed in a fatal shooting on July 14, 2009, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred in the 6700 block of Canal Street around 9:30 p.m. Soto was talking to a friend outside his residence when an altercation broke out, during which he was shot multiple times. The suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving Soto gravely wounded. Emergency services transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
