On December 14, 1984, Terrance Arndt, an 18-year-old student from Burney, California, was murdered while parked on a wooded lovers' lane near Burney High School. Arndt was sitting in his parents' car with an 18-year-old female friend, when a man approached and fired shots through the driver's side window, striking Arndt twice.
