On October 18, 2007, Caroline Grollnek, a 36-year-old woman, was found dead along an embankment of the Cumberland River in East Nashville. Her body was discovered in a state of advanced decomposition, which initially hindered identification efforts. Authorities reported that Grollnek was wearing a navy blue, long-sleeved sweatshirt and blue jeans when her body was found.
