Valerie Ortiz, a 20-year-old from El Monte, California, was found dead on October 8, 1995, in Oak Hills. Her body was discovered along a roadway, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The investigation determined that her body had been dumped there after she was killed. Valerie was originally from El Monte, and her tragic death added to the list of unsolved homicides in San Bernardino County during that period.
