On May 8, 1996, Dr. Tsunao Saitoh, a prominent Alzheimer's researcher at the University of California, San Diego, was tragically murdered along with his 13-year-old daughter, Loullie. The double homicide occurred late at night as the two returned home from Saitoh's laboratory. When they arrived at their house in La Jolla, they were ambushed in their driveway by an unknown assailant.
