In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 2, 2017, a young man named Juan Alexander Rodriguez was fatally shot in Nashville, Tennessee. The 19-year-old was with Javier Pedroza Jr. in a parking lot at 1326 Antioch Pike after leaving La Mansion Hall, an after-hours club that was operating at the Island Vibes restaurant. As they walked towards Pedroza's blue Chevrolet Silverado shortly before 5:00 a.m., gunfire erupted from a small, silver car parked across the street.
Both Rodriguez and Pedroza were struck multiple times. Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries. Earlier in the evening, a fight had reportedly broken out in the bathroom of the club involving both Rodriguez and Pedroza, which led to them being escorted out of the building.
The shooting is believed to be connected to this earlier altercation. Despite these leads, no arrests have been made in the case, and no specific suspects have been publicly identified. The investigation into the double homicide remains open and is considered a cold case by the Nashville authorities. Juan Alexander Rodriguez was survived by his father and several siblings.
