On July 25, 2017, Jaezoine Woods, a 15-year-old boy from Nashville, Tennessee, was shot and killed near the J.C. Napier Homes. According to reports, Woods was involved in an altercation with unknown suspects which escalated into a shooting. The incident occurred while Woods was assisting his grandmother, adding a tragic context to his death.
