In the summer of 2008, a young man’s life was abruptly cut short on a Philadelphia street corner. Ari Weston, a 19-year-old male from the city’s Lawndale section, was waiting for a bus on the evening of June 30th in the 300 block of East Olney Avenue. It was there that he was tragically gunned down, sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The sudden violence of the act sent shockwaves through the community.
