In the summer of 2008, a promising young life was abruptly cut short in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Robert Lee Barnes Jr., a 20-year-old male who had once been a celebrated basketball star at Langley High School, was fatally shot on July 19, 2008.
