In the early morning hours of January 24, 2010, the life of 18-year-old Brian Crosland was tragically cut short in his North Philadelphia neighborhood. A neighbor discovered the young man's body lying in a desolate, trash-strewn vacant lot on the 1800 block of North Taney Street at approximately 4:25 a.m. and immediately contacted the police. When authorities arrived, they found Crosland with a single gunshot wound to his head and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
