Eric Whittaker, a 24-year-old from Philadelphia, was shot and killed on August 3, 2011, in an incident that occurred near his home on the 1900 block of South 21st Street. The shooting took place in the early morning hours, with Eric being struck by multiple bullets. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
