On the night of April 30, 2012, 22-year-old Black male Ronnie Romero was fatally shot in West Philadelphia. The shooting left him critically injured, and emergency personnel rushed him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in an effort to save his life.
Romero, who lived on the 500 block of North Simpson Street in Philadelphia, remained in critical condition after arriving at the hospital.
