One of the assailants, identified as Darnell Johnson, also known as 'Weedel,' initiated the
violence by striking Cheyenne Allen on the side of his face with a handgun. Johnson's accomplice, Julian Brown, then demanded money from Charles Allen. After Charles handed over the cash he had, Johnson, believing he was holding back more, fatally shot him. In the ensuing chaos, Johnson also attempted to shoot Cheyenne, but the gun fortunately did not fire, allowing him to escape.
Following an investigation into the shooting, both Darnell Johnson and Julian Brown were arrested. They were subsequently charged in connection with the robbery and the murder of Charles Allen.
