Darnell Johnson, aged 17, was tragically killed on July 17, 2012, in Pittsburgh's Hill District. Johnson was found with a gunshot wound to the head at the bottom of a set of steps near Centre Avenue. The incident occurred during a period marked by increased gun violence in the area, with Johnson's death being one of twelve homicides recorded in Allegheny County that month.
