In the quiet neighborhood of Knoxville in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the evening of September 20, 2012, was shattered by a single act of violence that claimed the life of Randy D. Lewicki. A 49-year-old white male, Lewicki was sitting on the front steps of his mother's home on Jucunda Street when he was fatally shot in the side. He was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries later that night.
