In the early morning hours of a cold January day in Philadelphia, the life of 27-year-old Tyrell Jones was tragically cut short. On January 5, 2014, at approximately 3:17 a.m., police responded to a call on the 5800 block of North Marshall Street in the Olney neighborhood. There, they discovered Tyrell, a Black male, lying on the sidewalk. He had sustained a single, fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Despite the quick arrival of paramedics, Tyrell Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
