On a cold Friday evening in Philadelphia, on January 24, 2014, the life of Linden Henry, a 34-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. At approximately 6:17 p.m., police responded to a call on the 5700 block of Weymouth Street in the Crescentville section of the city. There, they discovered Linden in the driver's seat of his white 2000 Cadillac Deville, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead.
Linden, who was affectionately known by the nickname 'Shorn,' was a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, born on February 21, 1980. He had immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 11, settling in Philadelphia. He went on to graduate from Martin Luther King High School. At the time of his death, he was a resident of the 2200 block of Hamilton Avenue. He was a father, and had spent part of that final day with his young son, working on his car and playing video games.
The investigation into Linden Henry's murder remains open. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with his shooting, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or a motive for the killing. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to appeal to the public for any information that may lead to a breakthrough in this unsolved case. They urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and contact their homicide detectives.
