On the night of Tuesday, March 11, 2014, a violent encounter on the 6500 block of Limekiln Pike in Philadelphia left three people shot and one man dead. The deceased was identified as Jerome Johnson, a 31-year-old Black male who resided on the 5500 block of Matthews Street.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers were called to the scene where they discovered Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment but was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
Two other individuals were also wounded in the shooting. A 36-year-old Black male was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his stomach and was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. An 18-year-old was also shot in the foot and taken to the same hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the shooting that resulted in Jerome Johnson's death is ongoing. As of now, the case remains unsolved, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the incident. The Philadelphia Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward to assist in the investigation.
