On a cold December evening in Philadelphia, tragedy struck the family of Rodney Wilson. On Thursday, December 23, 2015, the 37-year-old Black male was discovered in the driver's seat of his 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The discovery was made by Philadelphia Police officers who responded to a call at approximately 11:01 p.m. on the 400 block of Vernon Road. Upon their arrival, they found Wilson inside the vehicle.
Paramedics were called to the scene and quickly transported him to Albert Einstein Medical Center. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced deceased later that night.
Rodney Wilson resided on the 5800 block of Woodcrest Avenue in Philadelphia. The investigation into his death remains ongoing, and as of now, it is an unsolved case. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
