In the Glen Hazel neighborhood of Pittsburgh, a brazen daylight shooting on October 13, 2014, claimed the life of 22-year-old Marcus Critten, a male resident of the area. The attack occurred around 11 a.m. on Roselle Drive, near the Glen Hazel Apartments, where two unidentified men emerged from a vehicle and began chasing Critten and another individual.
The gunmen first shot and wounded the other person, who managed to flee to a nearby house and was subsequently hospitalized in critical
condition. The assailants then focused their attention on Critten, pursuing him and shooting him to the ground. Witnesses reported the chilling scene as one of the gunmen stood over Critten and fired multiple additional shots into his body in what was described as an execution-style killing. Numerous shots were fired during the incident, and police recovered nearly 20 bullet casings from the scene.
Despite the public nature of the shooting and the presence of witnesses, the two suspects fled the scene, and no arrests have been made in the case. The investigation into the murder of Marcus Critten remains ongoing, but authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or a motive for the shooting. Much of the incident was reportedly captured by surveillance cameras in the housing community. At the time of his death, reports indicated that police had not yet apprehended any suspects in connection with the fatal shooting.
