In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Philadelphia, tragedy struck a young man just beginning his adult life. On June 23, 2015, 20-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez, a Hispanic male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the Kensington neighborhood. The incident occurred around 10:41 p.m. on the 100 block of East Wishart Street, a short distance from his home on the 700 block of West Clearfield Street.
Responding Philadelphia Police Officers discovered Rodriguez lying facedown
on the pavement, having been shot in his chest and arm. Paramedics rushed him to Temple University Hospital in an effort to save his life, but his injuries proved to be too severe. Jonathan Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the hospital that same night, his life cut short by an act of violence.
