In the summer of 2015, the life of a Pittsburgh teenager was cut short in a fatal shooting. Jay Wilder-Rice, a 17-year-old Black male from the city's North Side, was found lying in the street by a police officer on July 20, 2015. The discovery was made near the intersection of Minott and Sorrento Streets in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.
