On July 20, 2015, 17-year-old Jay Wilder-Rice was fatally shot near the intersection of Minott and Sorrento Streets in the Marshall-Shadeland area of Pittsburgh's North Side. Police discovered Jay after an officer spotted him lying on the street. He was immediately transported to Allegheny General Hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
