Tony McDougal, a 33-year-old San Francisco resident, was fatally shot on February 12, 2007, in the Western Addition neighborhood. The incident began near Hayes and Baker Streets where McDougal was shot while driving his car. Despite being wounded, McDougal managed to continue driving until he reached Haight and Fillmore Streets, where he crashed into a bus shelter.
The crash occurred at the scene of another shooting that had taken place just an hour earlier and was already being investigated by the police. McDougal was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The circumstances of McDougal's death remain unresolved. The Mayor’s Office has offered a $75,000 reward for any information that might lead to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the killing. This incident happened in a period marked by heightened violence in the Western Addition area, which had experienced multiple violent incidents, including shootings and stabbings, in the preceding weeks. Authorities continue to appeal to the public for information to help bring those responsible to justice.
