In the early hours of a Saturday morning, the life of a young Philadelphia man was tragically cut short. On August 22, 2015, 21-year-old Hassan Williams, a Black male, was shot on the 5400 block of Norfolk Street, the very block where he resided.
Following the shooting, he was rushed to Mercy Hospital by a private vehicle around 1:00 a.m. From there, medics from the Philadelphia Fire Department transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Despite the efforts to save him, Hassan Williams succumbed to his injuries and died that morning.
The case of his death remains an unsolved homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation. Detectives urge anyone with knowledge of the shooting to come forward, offering the option of anonymity for any tips provided. As of now, there have been no arrests made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murder of Hassan Williams.
