On September 4, 2015, Desean Fountain, a 14-year-old from East Liberty, Pittsburgh, was shot while walking home from school. He was wearing his book bag, a symbol of his dedication as a student, when the incident occurred. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Desean succumbed to his injuries five days later on September 9, 2015.
