Najee Harris, a 22-year-old Black male, was discovered on Thursday, July 21, 2016, inside his 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. The vehicle had come to a stop on the 2200 block of North Wanamaker Street after striking a parked car. Harris was in the driver's seat, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene, but Harris could not be saved. The subsequent investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department determined that the shooting had not occurred where he was found. Instead, evidence suggested that Harris had been shot in the rear driveway of a residence on the 5800 block of Woodcrest Avenue.
Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the case of Najee Harris's murder remains unsolved. No arrests have been made in connection with his death, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects.
