On February 8, 2017, just before 8 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night on Inglenook Place. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert that detected the shots, police arrived to a grim scene. Savon Lamont Martin was found lying on the front porch of a residence, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head, torso, and extremities.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
