Do you know who killed 33 year old Bruce Winfield Binford?
On October 6, 1982, Bruce Winfield Binford, a 33-year-old man, was found shot on the steps of a building in downtown Portland, Oregon. A passerby discovered Binford at approximately 12:30 a.m. near SW Salmon Street and 3rd Avenue, close to the US National Bank and Armed Services Recruiting offices. He had been shot in the head and was rushed to a hospital, but unfortunately, he died two days later from his injuries.
Binford, who was unemployed at the time, had been out drinking that evening and was last seen leaving Mr. D's Bar around 10:00 p.m. Investigators suspected that robbery might have been the motive, as Binford's wallet and briefcase were missing from the scene. Despite this lead, no arrests were made, and the case remains unsolved.
Portland police have continued to seek information from the public, hoping for any new leads that might shed light on the case. Rewards are still available for information leading to an arrest, and the case remains open with the Cold Case Homicide Unit.
