On March 6, 1987, Daniel Ruiz, a 37-year-old man, was found murdered in his apartment on SE 32nd Avenue in Portland, Oregon. His girlfriend discovered his body around 2:30 a.m., and an autopsy revealed that Ruiz had died from blunt force trauma. Ruiz was a known heroin user, and he had been last seen by his friends two days earlier, on the evening of March 4.
