On September 28, 1987, the partially decomposed body of a male, identified as Timothy Hoyt, was discovered in a common dumping ground in Portland, Oregon. Two young men who were collecting bottles in the area happened upon his remains. The investigation into his death quickly determined that he had been the victim of a homicide.
