On October 9, 1988, the body of 33-year-old Juan Lopez Ramirez was discovered beneath wooden pallets in a blackberry thicket under the Broadway Bridge onramp in Portland, Oregon. Two friends walking near NW 9th and Johnson stumbled upon the gruesome scene after detecting a foul odor. Ramirez had been murdered weeks prior to his discovery and was found rolled up in a carpet.
