On January 27, 1994, the body of 22-year-old Sven Jansson was found on a sidewalk near the 600 block of N. Humboldt Street in Portland, Oregon. A local resident heard gunshots around 2:30 a.m. and discovered Jansson, who had been shot to death. Jansson had recently been released from prison after serving time for bank robbery and was known to have struggled with drug addiction.
