On the morning of March 21, 2005, 34-year-old African-American male Phillip Tremane Robinson was at his residence at 2425 NE Wasco Street in Portland, Oregon. At approximately 7:14 a.m., as it is believed he was preparing to leave for work, he was critically shot.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the location and upon arrival, they discovered Robinson with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical attention, he succumbed to the gunshot wounds.
The incident shocked the neighborhood and left friends and family searching for answers.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a suspect fleeing the area on foot, heading west on Wasco Street. The individual was described as an African-American male in his 20s, with a tall and slender to medium build, standing at approximately six feet tall. He was reportedly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head and what appeared to be gray sweatpants.
Despite the witness descriptions, no arrests have been made in the case, and it remains an unsolved homicide. The Portland Police Bureau's Cold Case Homicide Unit continues to seek information from the public that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for Phillip Robinson's death. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward to help bring closure to his family.
