A transgender woman is found brutally beaten in a field
On the morning of August 29, 2001, the body of Loni Kai, a 28-year-old transgender woman, was discovered in a field off Southwest Farmington Road in Hillsboro, Oregon. Her body had been brutally beaten, particularly around the head, suggesting a violent attack. She had last been seen alive in the early hours of August 26, attempting to hitch a ride home after visiting a local 7-Eleven.
