On May 15, 2005, 41-year-old Thompson "Tony" Ly was fatally shot in downtown Portland, Oregon, at around 1:19 a.m. The shooting occurred between SW Yamhill Street and SW 2nd and 3rd Streets. Witnesses reported seeing a gold Honda Accord with spinner wheels leaving the scene, and the vehicle's occupants were described as five young African-American males.
