In the autumn of 1988, concern began to mount for Lurleen Warden, a White female resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma. When friends and neighbors realized she hadn't been seen for a few days, a request was made for authorities to check on her well-being. On October 4, 1988, police officers arrived at her home located at 2690 Terwilleger Boulevard to a grim scene. Inside, they discovered that Lurleen had been deceased for at least two days.
