On May 4, 1994, Aneta Muriel Huaman was fatally shot while house-sitting in north Tulsa with her common-law husband, Jesse Hankins. The couple had only been at the residence for a short time when unknown suspects attempted to break in. Hankins fired a shot at the intruders, who retaliated by firing multiple rounds into the house.
