Do you know who murdered Aneta? On a tragic evening in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Aneta Muriel Huaman, a female, found her life cut short by a senseless act of violence. On May 4, 1994, while she was housesitting for her common-law husband's sister in north Tulsa, an event unfolded that would end in her untimely death. Aneta was on the phone, sitting on the floor, when a bullet pierced through two walls and a door, striking her in the head.
She succumbed to the fatal injury six days later at Hillcrest Medical Center.
Earlier that evening, about half an hour after arriving at the residence, Aneta and her common-law husband, Jesse Hankins, heard noises that sounded like someone attempting to break in through the back door. Hankins confronted two men he saw outside, shouting at them and firing a warning shot in their direction. In retaliation, the two men fired approximately eight rounds at the house before fleeing the scene in what was described as an older model Plymouth. One of those bullets found its way to Aneta, ending her life.
The investigation into Aneta's death quickly grew cold. Despite the violent nature of the crime, no witnesses have ever come forward with information that could lead to the identification of the two men responsible. The occupants of the house where Aneta was killed have also stated that they have no information about the perpetrators. Detectives have considered a possible connection to drug-related activities, but no concrete evidence has emerged to support this theory.
Adding another layer of complexity to the case is an incident that occurred at the same house just three days prior to the fatal shooting. In that event, three men forced their way into the home, confronting the owner and several young children. While nothing was stolen, investigators believe there may be a link between this home invasion and the shooting that claimed Aneta's life. To this day, the case remains unsolved, with no arrests made and no suspects officially named. The two men who fled into the night remain unidentified, leaving a lingering sense of injustice for the tragic death of Aneta Muriel Huaman.
