Kevin Peabody, a 44-year-old Black man living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died on June 19, 2007, far from the Louisiana community where he had first made his home. He was described in public memorials as a native of Kenner, Louisiana, with strong ties to his family there, even after building a life hundreds of miles away in Oklahoma.
