On September 16, 2010, 16-year-old Deantwon Johnson, a sophomore at Douglass High School, was found dead in Diggs Park in Oklahoma City. His body was discovered after a 911 call, possibly made by a family member. The cause of death was not immediately clear, and police were still investigating whether the homicide was gang-related, though Deantwon's step-grandfather acknowledged that Deantwon had past involvement with gangs.
