On September 2, 2012, Phillip Washington, age 33, was found dead in Oklahoma City under suspicious circumstances. He was discovered on a city street, and initial investigations indicated that his death was a homicide. This case was part of a particularly violent year for Oklahoma City, which saw a surge in homicides, many of which remain unsolved to this day.
