On October 26, 2013, Charles Jasper, age 59, was found shot to death in his pickup truck at the Liberty Station Apartments near the Oklahoma State Capitol. Jasper was discovered slumped over in the driver’s seat with his seatbelt still on, and the driver's side window shattered. Authorities confirmed that he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and the case was ruled a homicide.
